Lac de Mauvoisin

Super day in this wonderful fall we are having. The colors of the lake and the drying grasses with the eventual bright blue gentian poking through were stupendous!

Champéry waterfalls

The val d'Illiez has never looked so pretty. Took a hike in the ravines and on the cliffs. Absolutely gorgeous, we wandered through the chalets to the home of the moss-trolls & fairies (although an English couple, who were lost, didn't see them)

Mt. Fort permafrost

Spent the day with icey people studying the permafrost in the Mont Fort region. After debating climate change and what is happening to the future of skiing, we turned into popsicles ourselves while looking at the temperature readings 20 meters into the Tortin Glacier when it hailed!!

Bruson

Super hike up through myrtilles (alpine blueberry) bushes! The views to Mont Blanc, Dolent, Combins, Vélan at the top were breathtaking. Let's hope for a gorgeous fall, even though the snow has already started falling..

Vibram five fingers

My toes are blue from picking myrtilles!!
What a fun hike testing out these toe shoes. Really gives you the feel of the earth below and gives your calf muscles a workout (felt it for 3 days!)
