After such a great day snowshoeing around Verbier we headed to the end of the valley. Just the place to recuperate from all the sliding we did the day before!

Ha-Ha-Ha! We all ended up like this! Through looking for snow patches to walk on and slip all over the place. So nice to go places in Verbier where there are no skiiers.

The forest trolls were wondering what we were doing there too! But once out of the trees and pine needle snow it was glorious!

Snowshoeing Fionnay

I just love this area, it has everything. You can pic-nic by the summer mayens (wooden shacks) or jump over the river! Animal tracks are all over too, simply marvelous!

Wonderful day with the snow trolls! Just wish the snow angels would give us a bit of fresh snow to play in! The views here and the tranquility are heavenly!

Winter in Verbier

The river in Fionnay (La Dranse) is a sight right now! The snow has mushroomed up on top of the rocks to create some fabulous artistic views! Call me soon to go see them yourself!

This is the perfect time for snowshoeing in Verbier - the high pressure is sending us sunny skies till the beginning of March apparently! So put a pair on and come with me to see the wild animal tracks and imbibe in the beauty of the fresh alpine views!

How did I get so lucky to get invited to this magnificient outing?! As the only girl I better not do anything stupid so I can come again! Unfortunately it will not become a place to snowshoe to. But we can hike up here in the summer!

Thank you Antony for schlepping up over 1500 meters with me! And waiting for me to get down the steepest couloir I have ever skied in my life!
This is not a place for snowshoeing to the top, but the forest is worth it!

Snowshoeing above Martigny

I think the snow angels live here! Everytime I have been in this area it has snowed! The forest is beautiful and full of wild animals. There are lots of wild hare tracks & I have seen a chamois staring at me between the trees - which I really did not expect considering the noise one makes on snowshoes!

Disovered a magical place anyone can get to. Just wait till you see the pic-nic spot! So bring something worth stopping for!

Cretta di Vela

On the way to the Grand Saint Bernard lie a bunch of lazy looking mountains. They are really beautiful to climb up. But I admit we did it on touring skis and not with snowshoes. The first part would be fun to do on snowshoes, but the summit would be a bit long to get to.
