Snowshoeing in La Fouly

This was a discovery day, and WOW! It was beautiful and just perfect views! Cannot wait to take you there!

Cretta di Vela

On the way to the Grand Saint Bernard lie a bunch of lazy looking mountains. They are really beautiful to climb up. But I admit we did it on touring skis and not with snowshoes. The first part would be fun to do on snowshoes, but the summit would be a bit long to get to.

Snowshoeing in Champsec

If you have never been to Champsec it is time to discover it now on snowshoes! They don't see the sun for 3 or 4 months so the snow is fluffy and the crystals are worth looking at. They felt like corn flakes under our 'raquettes'!

The forests of fall are so inviting! Although I am happy to go home and have a hot cup of tea infront of the fire too!

Fresh snow in Fionnay

Well it was one of those mornings - do we take the snowshoes or not? Of course since it had been snowing for over 10 hours you would think that we would have taken them...As it was a lazy Sunday we thought we were stronger than nature! It seems as though I have to do at least one outing like this each winter to make sure I know why I use snowshoes in the first place! Thanks for helping me guys! And I won't listen to you next time - yeah right!

Les Haudères - Lac Bleu

Another succesful Saturday fall walk! The lake was the perfect pic-nic spot and the trails were empty, except for us! We went a bit higher than expected, the path has been taken away by a landslide. But we made it back to the car just as it was getting dark (too early these days!!) and we got to see the sunset on the Dent Blanche!

Witepods at Les Giettes

Today I went and checked out a magical place to take you! In the winter you heat up your "pod" with a wood stove. Just like sleeping in an igloo, except that you have windows to check ou the view! And what a view! The spa is going to be open soon and I just can't wait to take advantage of it after a long walk in the area around the Portes du Soleil.

Shlerondes, Verbier

The first snowfall of the winter I just had to get out! I saw no one! But there were tons of animal tracks. These are squirel tracks - you don't often see them, they are so light! Amazing day! The sun was shining and the clouds were playing around down in the valley. I just love the changing seasons!

Col des Pauvres

What a fabulous morning we had walking up to the Col. Passing through the frozzzzzen valley of Nant we hiked below the majestic limestone vaudois Alpes. The sun was at the Col des Pauvres where we ate our pic-nic. We then followed the crazy ridge of colapsed mountain tops along the Pointe de Savolaires with the view of the Rhone Valley below us.

Pierre Avoi

What a day! We hiked up to the Chutte de Bisse and then up above the Marlenaz in Verbier to take advantage of the view from the Pierre Avoi. This is really a stupendous place to go, and I am always surprised how many people have not been up there!

97 kilos pumpkin

Can't wait to see how many truck loads of soup this is going to make! Yikes! If anyone is hungry, come on by! Or if you have any suggestions on how to prepare it!

Bisse d'Ayent

After starting off in gale force winds and a snow storm - we got back in the car and drove to a lower altitude for our walk! I have never seen white caps in a dam lake before... We ended up doing a superb walk between the resorts of Crans Montana and Anzère, with the sun! For all those who couldn't make it, you really missed something. And once again we saw no one until we got to the Bisse - what is it with walking in flat places with all the other sheep?!?
